Add Claude Counter widgets to your Lock Screen and Home Screen

What are Widgets?

Widgets let you see your counters at a glance without opening the app. Claude Counter offers widgets for both your Lock Screen and Home Screen.

Benefits of Using Widgets:

  • Quick access to your most important counters
  • See updates without unlocking your phone
  • Beautiful, customizable designs
  • Automatic updates throughout the day
  • Multiple widgets for different counters

Requirements: Widgets require iOS 16 or later. Make sure your iPhone is updated to the latest iOS version.

Lock Screen Widgets

Lock Screen widgets appear right on your Lock Screen, giving you instant access to your counters every time you pick up your phone.

Adding a Lock Screen Widget

Enter Lock Screen Edit Mode

Long press (press and hold) on your Lock Screen until it zooms out and shows "Customize" at the bottom.

Tap Customize

Tap the "Customize" button at the bottom of the screen.

Select the Widget Area

Tap on the widget area below the time display. This area shows small rectangular spaces where widgets go.

Find Claude Counter

Scroll through the widget list and tap "Claude Counter".

Choose Your Widget

Select which counter you want to display on your Lock Screen.

Save Your Changes

Tap "Done" in the top right corner to save your new Lock Screen widget.

Lock Screen Widget Sizes

Claude Counter offers different widget sizes for your Lock Screen:

  • Small Rectangular: Shows counter name and days
  • Small Circular: Compact counter display
  • Inline (Above Time): Counter name and value in one line

Choose the size that best fits your Lock Screen layout.

Home Screen Widgets

Home Screen widgets appear alongside your app icons, providing more detailed counter information.

Adding a Home Screen Widget

Enter Edit Mode

Long press (press and hold) on an empty area of your Home Screen until the apps start jiggling.

Tap the "+" Button

Tap the "+" button in the top left corner to open the widget gallery.

Search for Claude Counter

Use the search bar to find "Claude Counter" or scroll through the list.

Choose Widget Size

Swipe left or right to see different widget sizes (Small, Medium, Large).

Add Widget

Tap "Add Widget" to place it on your Home Screen.

Position and Configure

Drag the widget to your desired location, then tap "Done" in the top right corner.

Home Screen Widget Sizes

Small (2x2): Shows one counter with name and time

Medium (4x2): Shows up to two counters side by side

Large (4x4): Shows up to four counters with detailed information

Customizing Widgets

Changing Which Counter is Displayed

  1. Long press on the widget
  2. Tap "Edit Widget" from the menu
  3. Select a different counter from the list
  4. Tap outside the widget or "Done" to save

Removing a Widget

Method 1: Quick Remove

  1. Long press on the widget
  2. Tap "Remove Widget"
  3. Confirm removal

Method 2: Edit Mode

  1. Enter edit mode (long press Home Screen)
  2. Tap the "-" button on the widget
  3. Tap "Remove"

💡 Tip: You can add multiple widgets to track different counters. Mix and match sizes for the perfect layout!

Troubleshooting

Widget Not Updating

If your widget isn't showing the latest information:

  1. Make sure the counter still exists in the app
  2. Open Claude Counter to trigger a refresh
  3. Remove and re-add the widget
  4. Restart your iPhone
  5. Update to the latest iOS and app version

Note: Widgets update automatically but may take a few minutes. Low Power Mode can delay updates.

Widget Shows "No Counter Selected"

This means the widget needs to be configured:

  1. Long press the widget
  2. Tap "Edit Widget"
  3. Select a counter from your list
  4. Tap outside to save

Can't Find Claude Counter in Widget Gallery

Try these solutions:

  • Make sure Claude Counter is installed and opened at least once
  • Use the search bar in the widget gallery
  • Scroll down to find Claude Counter alphabetically
  • Update to the latest version of iOS
  • Restart your iPhone

Widget Looks Wrong or Broken

  1. Remove the widget completely
  2. Force close Claude Counter (swipe up from app switcher)
  3. Reopen Claude Counter
  4. Add the widget again
