Claude Counter User Guide

Everything you need to know about using Claude Counter

Creating Counters

Creating a New Counter

  1. Tap the "+" button in the top right corner
  2. Enter a name for your counter (required)
  3. Select your target date using the date picker
  4. The app automatically determines if it's a countdown or countup based on the date
  5. Optionally add a description for more context
  6. Tap Save to create your counter

Countdown vs. Countup

Countdown: Select a future date to count down to an upcoming event.

Example: "Vacation - 45 days remaining"

Countup: Select a past date to count up from a milestone.

Example: "Quit Smoking - 127 days smoke-free"

Quick Tips

  • Use clear, descriptive names for easy identification
  • Add descriptions to remember why the date is important
  • Create counters for both big events and daily habits
  • You can create unlimited counters

Managing Counters

Viewing Counter Details

Tap any counter to view its full details:

  • Exact date and time
  • Time remaining or elapsed
  • Description (if added)
  • Quick actions (edit, share, delete)

Editing a Counter

  1. Tap the counter you want to edit
  2. Tap Edit in the top right
  3. Modify any field (name, date, description, settings)
  4. Tap Save to apply changes

Deleting a Counter

Method 1: Swipe to Delete

  1. Swipe left on any counter in the list
  2. Tap the red Delete button
  3. Confirm deletion

Method 2: Delete from Details

  1. Tap the counter to open details
  2. Tap Edit
  3. Scroll down and tap Delete Counter
  4. Confirm deletion

⚠️ Warning: Deleted counters cannot be recovered. Make sure you want to delete before confirming.

Sorting and Organizing

Counters can be sorted by:

  • Date (closest first)
  • Name (alphabetically)
  • Date created (newest first)
  • Custom order (drag to reorder)

Access sorting options from the menu in the top left corner.

Customization

Display Format

Choose how time is displayed for each counter:

  • Days: "142 days"
  • Weeks: "20 weeks"
  • Months: "4 months"
  • Years: "1 year"
  • Combined: "1 year, 2 months, 15 days"

To change display format:

  1. Open the counter details
  2. Tap Edit
  3. Select your preferred Display Format
  4. Tap Save

Colors and Themes

Claude Counter automatically adapts to your system appearance:

  • Light Mode: Clean, bright interface
  • Dark Mode: Easy on the eyes in low light
  • Automatic: Switches based on iOS settings

Change your system appearance in iOS Settings > Display & Brightness.

Notifications

Enabling Notifications

Step 1: Enable in iOS Settings

  1. Go to iOS Settings
  2. Scroll to Claude Counter
  3. Tap Notifications
  4. Toggle on Allow Notifications

Step 2: Enable for Specific Counters

  1. Open a counter
  2. Tap Edit
  3. Toggle on Notify Me
  4. Choose when to be notified
  5. Tap Save

Notification Options

Choose when to receive notifications:

  • On the day: At 9:00 AM on the target date
  • 1 day before: 24 hours before
  • 1 week before: 7 days before
  • 1 month before: 30 days before
  • Custom: Set your own time and date

💡 Tip: Enable multiple notification reminders for important events by editing the counter and adding additional notification times.

iCloud Sync

How iCloud Sync Works

When enabled, your counters automatically sync across all your Apple devices:

  • Create a counter on your iPhone, see it on your iPad
  • Edit on any device, changes appear everywhere
  • Delete on one device, removed from all devices
  • Works seamlessly in the background

Enabling iCloud Sync

  1. Make sure you're signed in to iCloud (Settings > [Your Name])
  2. Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud
  3. Toggle on iCloud Drive
  4. Scroll down and toggle on Claude Counter
  5. Download Claude Counter on your other devices

Troubleshooting Sync Issues

If sync isn't working:

  1. Check that you're using the same Apple ID on all devices
  2. Ensure you have an internet connection
  3. Verify iCloud Drive is enabled
  4. Check available iCloud storage (Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud)
  5. Try signing out and back into iCloud
  6. Restart your device

🔒 Privacy: Your counter data is encrypted and stored in your personal iCloud account. We never have access to your data.

Settings

Accessing Settings

Open app settings by tapping the gear icon ⚙️ in the top left corner of the main screen.

  • Default display format for new counters
  • Default notification settings
  • Sort order preference

  • View sync status
