Frequently Asked Questions
Stacks & Strips
Q: What's a Stack? What's a strip?
A: A strip is a single task, shown as a colour-coded strip. A Stack is the board your strips live on. Pile your tasks onto a Stack, and the order of the strips is your plan for the day.
Q: How do I reorder my strips?
A: Just drag them. Press and hold a strip, then drag it up or down the Stack to wherever you want it. There's no edit mode to switch into — reordering is always on.
Timers & Live Activities
Q: How do timers on strips work?
A: Every strip has its own built-in timer — either a simple countdown or a Pomodoro-style work/break cycle. Start the timer on a strip and get on with the task; the running timer appears on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, so you don't need to keep the app open.
Q: Why isn't my timer showing on the Lock Screen?
A: Live Activities are probably switched off for the app. Go to iOS Settings > ToDo Stacker and make sure the Live Activities toggle is on. Once it's enabled, running timers will appear on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.
Q: What are the Timers and Alarms boards?
A: They're dedicated boards for standalone timers and alarms, styled just like your task strips. Both are part of ToDo Stacker Pro.
Trial & Subscription
Q: How does the free trial work?
A: Your 14-day free trial starts automatically the first time you launch the app — nothing to sign up for and no account needed. You get the full app while you decide whether Pro is for you.
Q: What happens when my trial ends?
A: Nothing is deleted and nothing is locked away — your Stacks, strips, and Progress reports stay right there to view and search. Editing pauses: creating or changing tasks, the Timers board, and the Alarms board are all part of ToDo Stacker Pro. Subscribe any time and you pick up exactly where you left off.
Q: How much does ToDo Stacker Pro cost?
A: ToDo Stacker Pro is $2.99 per month or $19.99 per year, and each plan comes with its own 2-week free trial. Subscriptions auto-renew until you cancel.
Q: How do I cancel my subscription?
A: Subscriptions are managed by Apple, so cancel through your App Store account: open the App Store, tap your profile picture, then Subscriptions, choose ToDo Stacker Pro, and tap Cancel. You keep Pro until the end of the current billing period.
Q: I've reinstalled the app (or got a new iPhone) — how do I get Pro back?
A: Open the Options tab and tap Restore Purchases. As long as you're signed in with the same Apple Account you used to subscribe, your Pro access comes straight back.
Sync & Importing
Q: Why isn't my data syncing between devices?
A: Sync happens automatically through your iCloud account, so there's nothing to set up in the app itself. If it seems off, check the iOS Settings app > [your name] > iCloud and make sure ToDo Stacker is enabled there, and confirm both devices are signed in with the same Apple Account. Give it a moment on a good internet connection and your Stacks should catch up.
Q: How do I import my Apple Reminders?
A: One tap from the import screen brings your Reminders in as strips. The Calendar, Contacts, and Reminders permissions are entirely optional — if you declined one and change your mind, you can grant it again in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security.
Personalisation
Q: How do I change the language or theme?
A: Both live in the Options tab. Pick from 10 languages — English (UK), English (US), Afrikaans, Greek, French, Spanish, German, Dutch, Japanese, and Chinese (Simplified) — and choose a colour theme to make the app your own.
Q: Which devices does ToDo Stacker run on?
A: ToDo Stacker is built for iPhone running iOS 26. It's not on the App Store just yet — it's coming soon.
